Protein makes up the building blocks of organs, muscles, skin, and hormones. Your body needs protein to maintain and repair tissues and kids need it to help them grow. It can aid in weight loss, increase muscle mass and strength, lower blood pressure, strengthen your immune system and repair body cells.

While protein is known to come from animal sources, you can get plant-based proteins from gains, beans, vegetables and nuts. However it is important to remember that you need make sure you’re getting all your essential vitamins and minerals, as some plant-based proteins may lack certain essential amino acids. The Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) for protein is 46g for women and 56g for men.
